Terms of Service

By creating an account, ticking the acceptance checkbox, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Where the user is a minor, acceptance is given by the parent/guardian as described in Section 4.

Markro is an AI-powered study platform for CBSE (grades 4 to 12) and Tamil Nadu competitive exams (TNPSC and related examinations): learning summaries and simulators, AI chat tutoring, virtual tests and mock exams, voice-based practice, daily current-affairs briefings, and progress and gamification features. Markro is a digital service: nothing is shipped physically; access is delivered to your account immediately upon activation.

• You must provide accurate registration details and keep them updated.
• One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Sharing login credentials or reselling access is prohibited.
• You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us immediately at support@markro.ai if you suspect unauthorised use.
• We may decline, suspend, or reclaim accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

Students of any age may use Markro, provided that users under 18 have verifiable parent/guardian consent as required by Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our signup flow collects this consent via a secure link sent to the parent/guardian.

• For a user under 18, the parent/guardian accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf and is responsible for the account, including purchases.
• Parents/guardians may review the minor's data or withdraw consent at any time (see the Privacy Policy, Grievance Officer).
• Withdrawing consent ends the minor's access to the Platform.

• Paid plans, prices, and inclusions are shown on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. Prices are in INR and include applicable GST unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are processed by authorised payment providers (e.g. Razorpay); your payment data is handled by them under their own terms. Markro does not store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. We will notify you in advance of material price changes.
• You can switch plans; changes apply from the next billing period unless stated otherwise.
• Plan limits (e.g. AI message caps) are enforced automatically and reset as described on the Pricing page.

Cancellation

• You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account or by writing to support@markro.ai.
• Cancellation stops future renewals only. Your access continues until the end of the period already paid for. No pro-rata refunds.

The only exceptions

• Exception claims must be made within 7 days of the charge by emailing support@markro.ai with the transaction ID.
• Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
• No refund is payable on any account terminated for violating these Terms (Section 12).
• Initiating a payment chargeback for a service that was delivered is treated as a violation of these Terms and may result in suspension.
• Service interruptions are addressed under Section 11; any remedy is a goodwill extension of subscription time at Markro's sole discretion, not a monetary refund.

You agree not to:

• Share, sell, or transfer your account, or access anyone else's account.
• Copy, scrape, download in bulk, republish, or resell Platform content (questions, summaries, briefs, AI outputs) or use it to build a competing product or train models.
• Use the Platform to cheat in any real examination, or attempt to misrepresent Markro scores/certificates as official credentials.
• Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; harass others; or attempt to breach, probe, or overload our systems.
• Circumvent plan limits, gamification systems, or payment requirements (including manipulating XP, streaks, tests, or referral/promotional mechanics).

• AI evaluations of answers (including voice and descriptive answers) are automated estimates, not official grading.
• Current-affairs briefings are AI-curated news summaries provided for study convenience; the underlying events are reported by their original sources.
• We do not use your chats, uploads, voice, or test answers to train AI models (see Privacy Policy).

You keep ownership of the content you submit (questions, notes, uploads, voice recordings). You grant Markro a limited licence to process that content solely to operate the Platform for you, e.g. generating answers, evaluating tests, and syncing your progress. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload what you upload.

The Platform, including software, design, question banks, summaries, simulators, briefs, brand, and mascots, is owned by Markro or its licensors and protected by law. Your subscription grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Platform for your own studies; it transfers no ownership. Third-party examination names (CBSE, TNPSC, etc.) belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

• We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service; maintenance, upgrades, and third-party outages can cause downtime.
• We continuously improve the Platform and may add, change, or retire features. If a change materially reduces a paid plan's core value, we will notify you before your next renewal.
• We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and the updated version applies from its effective date. Continued use is acceptance. For minors, fresh parental consent is obtained where required.

• You may stop using Markro and delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms (including Acceptable Use violations, payment abuse, or unlawful activity), with immediate effect for serious breaches.
• On termination for breach, access ends immediately and no refund is payable (Section 6).
• Sections that by nature survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, disputes) survive.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Markro disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost opportunities, examination outcomes, or data loss beyond our reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Markro's aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid to Markro in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights, the courts at Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction. Please raise issues with our Grievance Officer first (Section 15). Most problems are resolved within days.

We acknowledge grievances promptly and respond within 30 days, consistent with the timelines published in our Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law.
